Reduction Shroud System: This distinctive feature enables the disc to channel material into fixed cutting teeth located within the shroud, producing fresh, clean mulch.
Direct Drive System: The SS Extreme Mulcher houses our most substantial bearing box, paired with a 5” heat-treated, tapered drive shaft. This custom-built direct drive system incorporates crusher style bearings, continually lubricated through an oil bath system. Power is transmitted from a 130cc bent axis hydraulic piston motor through a 10” rubber isolator drive coupling, mitigating any shock loads from the bearing box. Additionally, we employ a large drive hub affixed to the 58” cutting disc, mating with the tapered shaft through a double-locking fastening system.
Ease of Maintenance: The SS Extreme Mulcher disc mulcher features a direct drive system devoid of belts, pulleys, or sheaves. With a generous 1,000 hours between bearing box oil changes, your focus remains on maintaining cutting teeth and accomplishing the task at hand.
Standard Tooth Configuration:
BEAVER TEETH: Comprising 8 on top and 14 on the perimeter, the Beaver Tooth has straight edges, showcases durability, and can be re-sharpened directly on the blade. Tip: Rotating beaver teeth prolongs wear life.
CARBIDE THUMBNAIL TEETH: Arrangement includes 16 teeth at the bottom, 16 holders at the top, and 16 holders at the bottom. The SS Extreme Mulcher's Carbide Thumbnail Tooth is engineered for durability, positioned at the bottom of the cutting disc to withstand harsh conditions.
BOTTOM TOOTH HOLDER DELETE KITS: Provided to cover self-locating extension tooth holder locations.
OPTIONAL EXTENSION TOOTH COMBO KIT:
Recommended for heightened mulching aggressiveness, this kit comprises (7) self-locating tooth holders, (6) carbide bullet teeth, and (6) carbide faced shark teeth. The disc is machined with (6) counter-bored locations, designed to accommodate this holder. Though suggested at the time of purchase, the Extension Tooth Combo Kit can be added subsequently.
Shark Tooth: A high-efficiency extension cutting tooth, not advisable for use in rocky conditions.
Carbide Bullet Tooth: A medium-efficiency extension cutting tooth excelling in rocky terrains. Employing the bullet tooth may result in materials being projected at greater distances.
